January 2010 to August 2013 Digital Media Producer, Annexium - Over 3 years I led a dedicated team as creative director and digital media producer for Annexium - a global network of lawyers and people in business profiting from practical online courses, templates and know-how. Developing content is an ongoing process - ebooks, courses, webinars, video lectures, etc - and building a robust system for new authors to contribute.

Dec 2008 to February 2009 - Video Producer - Behind The Scenes - East West 101 - SBS Produced by Knapman Wyld Television, directed by Peter Andrikidis. Created DVD and web "behind the scenes" videos for the second season shot in Sydney, Australia for SBS.

May 2008 - November 2008 - Multimedia & Video Producer - Sunglow Finance Pty Ltd - Website and video content creation, project management, developing strategies for ongoing marketing, liaising with designers and programmers.


1999 – 2009 Video Archive Producer - Popcorn Taxi - Michael initiated the video archive of this grass roots film industry community event. Starting from some of the first Sydney Popcorn Taxi sessions, Michael helped organise staging and lighting and shot the events on a weekly basis - mostly at the legendary Valhalla Cinema in Glebe, but also at Hoyts at Fox Studios and later at Greater Union Bondi Junction.


During the period of 2003 to 2011, Michael was very active on the organising committee of OZDOX - the australian documentary forum: a joint initiative from documentary filmmakers, industry bodies and academics, to foster, promote and provide a monthly forum for documentary culture. Previous guests include Curtis Levy and Bentley Dean, Donald Crombie, Geoff Burton, Simon Nasht, Janet Merewether, Ruth Cullen, Tom Zubrycki, Aviva Ziegler, Kerry Brewster, Todd Grossman amongst numerous others. In 2008, Michael produced a series of DVDs featuring 30 OzDox events since 2003. They are available online as The OzDox Archive.


In 2006-2007 Michael spent extensive time in New York, San Francisco, London networking and attending film festivals. Also, in that period, shooting projects in India, Malaysia and Europe, before returning to Australia in 2008.

Continuing video production of film and tv industry interviews - Michael is a veteran of Popcorn Taxi since Feb 2000. As well as setting up the lighting in the upstairs and downstairs theatre, he initiated the video and stills archive, shot all the shows (over 130 to date), and also maintained the website for a couple of years. Directors appearing at Popcorn Taxi have included Baz Luhrmann, Gillian Armstrong, Phillip Noyce, Vincent Ward, Andrew Dominic, Kimble Rendall, and overseas directors such as Anthony Minghella, Rob Cohen as well as cinematographers such as Don McAlpine, John Seale, Russell Boyd, Chris Doyle and many others.

Two 15 minute docu-drama videos about the Graduate Medicine courses at The University of Sydney. This project also included a multi-platform production comprising an interactive CD-ROM (Mac/PC), and a web site with unified design features.

1991 - Pegasus Networks conducted a Public Seminar and Training at The State Library of NSW. Developed and executed 2month promotional lead-up campaign, and designed all training materials.

1989-91 - Manager and Designer at MCF Newtown, a desktop publishing bureau.

1990 - Assistant Organiser of A.W.A.R.E. - an environmental expo at The Rocks.

1989 - Public relations, technical coordination, and video documentation of EarthWalk, for Earth Repair Foundation.

1986-87 - Edited, co-wrote, designed and self-published The Crystal Visionary - a magazine which was later compiled into 365 page book, including 8 colour pages of original photography. As part of the research and interview process, Michael travelled across USA for 2 months meeting Uma Silbey, Jose Arguelles, Michael Smith, John Mitchell, Dan Winter and many others.

1986 - Toured schools in Sydney & NSW with The Third Spectrum - an inspirational Audio Visual presentation.

1983-86 - Ran Midnite Stills - a photographic studio and B/W laboratory, with a sideline of rock 'n' roll photography for Sonics, Rolling Stone and other magazines.

1983 - TV Props for TEN-10, run of show Arcade.

1982-3 - Photographic printer at Hanimex, Brookvale, (while attending North Sydney Tech TVCP) Also in 1982 photographic printing for ColorTeknic 1981, and specialist B/W printing at Leica Photo Service.

1976-82 - Theatre Lighting Design, Stage Management, Props and Production Assistant at various venues such as Marian St Theatre, Theatre Royal, Seymour Centre, The Independant, and The Regent.

...as well as concert lighting for a number of small groups and overseas groups such as John Mayall.

1979-89 - Concurrent with theatre TV and photographic work. Concert photography for The Angels, Cold Chisel, INXS and Men At Work amongst many other local and overseas acts with work published in Sonics, Rolling Stone and other magazines.
