This form of video comes in many shapes and sizes... short company profiles with interviews, longer explorations into specific topics mixing older footage with new on-site shooting plus interviews, or voiceover driven campaigns with illustrative video from various sources. There are many options depending on the intent of the video usage. NOTE: the shoot will often include an interview (or autocue script reading) to record the voiceover which may also be used as audio only.
The process involves a few steps:
a) consultancy - defining target audience, brand design and message / voiceover script
b) location recce - test shots if needed, and then planning the shoot (cast, clothing, props, etc)
c) the video shoot - sometimes may be split over different days, or different locations
d) post-production - editing, adding text elements, logos and graphics and special effects if required
e) revisions and testing - honing the final version based on feedback from client and audience
